'UCSD Center for Healthy Eating and Activity Research (CHEAR) offers individualized, unique, and evidence-based programs that integrate neurobiology, cognitive, biological, emotional, social and environmental contributors to treat a variety of eating behaviors. At CHEAR we are developing new cutting-edge treatments, that are based on training your brain and your body to resist binge eating and overeating. Our clinical programs utilize neurobiological mechanisms to develop control over eating, including teaching participants to resist eating foods when physically full (resist cravings), to understand and detect hunger and fullness, to pay less attention to food and to train you to physically and psychologically resist unhealthy foods. We also utilize evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Family-Based Therapy, and Behavioral Weight Loss (BWL).
